The beautiful island of Grenada experienced the Culture of Honor when Golden Rule World Peace Ambassador and Interfaith Peace-Building Initiative Representative, Dr. Charles Karuku and Golden Rule World Peace Ambassador Dr. Eric Melwani, bestowed the Golden Rule International Award upon Hon. Winston Garraway. The Golden Rule states “Treat others the way you want to be treated” and Hon. Garraway’s life has been lived to help others.

Hon. Winston Garraway is the Minister of State, Minister of Youth, Sports and Religious Affairs and National Disaster Management Agency for Grenada. He has served his people in building outstanding leaders of all ages and promoting global opportunities in sports for the youth of Grenada. He truly cares about humanity and exemplifies the Golden Rule ethic. Live this February 2016; World Peace Ambassador Clyde Rivers brought the Culture of Honor and Honor Africa to Delaware, the First State of our Union. In Rogers Park Chicago at the Sullivan High School, this February 2016, over 40 top Humanitarians and Activists gathered as World Peace Ambassador Clyde Rivers brought the Culture of Honor to a number of prestigious recipients. These individuals joined the many influential Golden Rule International Alumni around the world. The Golden Rule states “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” These recipients were awarded because their lives are an example of this New Global Peace Policy.

One of the recipients was the renowned South African Freedom Fighter, Gideon Mahlathini Makhanya, who was honored for his tireless efforts to bring peace and freedom to South Africa.

Ambassador Rivers commented, “To find people fighting for humanity is a wonderful happening. I was so honored to be able to bestow on Gideon Makhanya the Global World Peace Ambassadorship with the Golden Rule International Award.” Ambassador Rivers went on to say, “Watching the hearts of these passionate people working to see the Golden Rule come to their city Chicago, was overwhelming.”

Ambassador Rivers’ message at this event was a change of conversation. He spoke of the worlds need to value the gifts from God in every individual. He stated, “We lose everything when a person looses his or her life. It’s a tragic lose for the world and we suffer the lack of that contribution. That gift will never enter into our existence. We must work to preserve every individual in the world because their gifts are necessary for our world to develop and be great.”

In Harrisburg PA at the National Civil War Museum on November 14, 2015. IChange Nations™ and the Golden Rule International presented a Culture of Honor to the HoodRise Nation Urban Movement recognizing this movement and it’s leaders for their dedication to bringing honor and lifting the lives of those caught in the culture of the “hood” in their cities. The team first caught Ambassador Rivers’ eye when he learned of their program’s emphasis on building integrity, purposeful character and hard work. He was made aware of the fact this team takes these qualities beyond the court into their personal lives. This reveals all the ingredients of living the Golden Rule… “Treat others the way you want to be treated” which is the foundation for the Golden Rule International Award.

Ambassador Rivers reflected, “The team spirit and sportsmanship of this team was representative of young lives determined to make a difference. The model this team represents is outstanding and a true model to be replicated in all sports. On February 15, 2015 the Golden Rule reformation hit the Bahamas. The recipients of this well-earned award were some of the top leaders in the different segments of the Bohemian system. These leaders have exemplified the Golden Rule in their market place. They have made their community a better place.

Ambassador Clyde Rivers challenged these leaders to make their nation a Golden Rule Nation. Rivers said, “I have never seen so much enthusiasm from the leaders of a nation to make this Golden Rule, ‘Treat others the way you want to be treated’, work within their nation. Every life in every nation is priceless. I am truly humbled and happy to welcome these fellow Ambassadors of the Golden Rule to our global community.”

Leconte University presented Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers with an Honorary Doctorate in Leadership in Humanities. The Library of Congress Haiti recognizes Leconte University and it is the first private university in the history of the Republic of Haiti to present this award for tireless effort to bring peace to the world.

The citation given to Dr. Rivers stated in part, “Your belief in ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’  - the Golden Rule, incorporates a belief system that sees no bounds, only ardent activity guided by the grace of God. Universite Leconte D’Haiti welcomes a partnership to utilize your leadership and administrative gifts to collaborate in the restoration of its prominence to the pursuit of education, social and economic development for the people of Haiti.
