ago by Coretta Scott King, Martin Luther King’s wife.
Dr. Rivers said, “I was humbled
to be asked by this prestigious association to be the speaker and to ride on
the final Freedom Train excursion. What Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did for this
country and the nations of the world created an impact we may never completely
understand, but we know the world is a much better place because of Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr. and his belief in civil rights for all. The cultural and ethnic
diversity on the Freedom Train really showed me that we can all get along if we
live the Golden Rule, ‘Treat others the way you want to be treated.’”
